Following the SymbiOsteo congress in 2019, exchanges between the various professional associations in animal osteopathy gradually intensified. This event helped to strengthen dialogue between the profession's stakeholders and foster a spirit of collaboration around the shared challenges linked to the evolution of the profession.
The period of the Covid-19 health crisis then marked an important stage in this cooperation. Faced with the many questions raised by practitioners, the professional associations worked together to provide clear and consistent information regarding the health regulations and practising conditions applicable to animal osteopaths.
It was in this spirit of continuity that, in February 2021, the Collectif des Ostéopathes Animaliers was born, bringing together several major representatives of the profession around a shared commitment to structuring, dialogue and representation of animal osteopathy.
The founding members of the collective were:
Gilles Botbol – Ostéopathes Animaliers Européens (OAE)
Cédric Charles – Institut Professionnel des Ostéopathes Animaliers Mécanistes (IPOAM)
Jacques Saada and Amandine d’Oléon – Fédération des Praticiens en Ostéopathie Animale (FédéOA)
Sébastien Mesnil – Syndicat Professionnel des Ostéopathes Animaliers Exclusifs (SPOAE)
Jean-Yves Girard – Fédération Européenne des Ostéopathes pour Animaux (FEOA)
Marie Salabert – Union Française des Etudiants Ostéopathes Animaliers (UFEOA)
