In 2025, a third interview in La Semaine Vétérinaire on the new structuring phase of animal osteopathy and the framework currently being prepared.

In 2025, I was interviewed for the third time by La Semaine Vétérinaire to discuss the ongoing developments in the regulatory framework of animal osteopathy, as well as the relationship between animal osteopaths and veterinarians.

This publication follows on from two previous articles published in 2019 and 2022, which had already addressed the dynamics of change within the profession and the challenges of structuring the sector.

In this interview, we look back at a new structuring phase launched in 2025, marked in particular by the ongoing work on developing a framework of activities, skills and training intended for animal osteopathy schools. This work, which is currently being finalised, is due to be published in 2026.

This momentum follows directly on from the recommendations made in the CGAAER report published in March 2024, and more specifically the recommendation aimed at strengthening the structuring and harmonisation of the profession's training and skills framework.

Through this interview, I was able to share my perspective as co-chair of the collective of animal osteopaths, particularly on the challenges of clarity in the scope of practice, the structuring of training courses, and the importance of dialogue between the various stakeholders in animal health.

This exchange forms part of an ongoing effort to track developments within the profession over time, alongside reflections that have been underway for several years regarding its organisation and future.
